Despite all of this, I was able to finish a couple of gifts for my great niece Bella because Christmas still happened. Bella got an ipad for Christmas from my sister, her nana that spoils her rotten, so I made her a bag to keep it in as well as a Christmas quilt to snuggle under with her brother while they waited for Santa.
Blogger is being difficult about loading pics so I just have this one which took an act of Congress to load! The Christmas quilt was a jelly roll race which I showed back a couple of posts. I just did a big meander and wrote some "secret" messages on it like "Santa is coming" as well as their names and the date. Bella and I skyped on Christmas day with our ipads. It's amazing what 4 year olds can do these days.
My DH and I had also planned to go to the Tournament of Roses parade and the Rose Bowl game. We had been planning this for a year. So after my fil's funeral, we went to Pasadena. He had told us all along not to miss this trip. It was bittersweet but we did really enjoy our trip which was a bit shorter than planned due to the circumstances. We met up with one of Bob's childhood friends, who is very involved in the City of Glendale. The city was sponsoring a float and we were able to go into the place where the floats were being put together. What an amazing process!
In addition to a Tournament of Roses coffee cup, I got the flu! I am now recovering from that. If you haven't gotten a flu shot, go right now and get one! This flu is a doozy!
I hope to do some blog housekeeping in the next week or so and get back to a more regular schedule of blogging. So check back next week!

I'm sorry for your loss and especially on a holiday. Being with loved ones helped, I am sure.
The trick to loading pictures is to load them to Picasa first and then select the Picasa web album option. I have not had the Load from Computer option in a month (probably). I don't know if it has been discontinued or not.
Here's to a good new year!
Annie, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'd been wondering where you were but never thought to ask. I'm glad that life is starting to get back on track for you. It certainly threw you a few bad pitches. Take care, don't over exert we don't want your flu to relapse.
Annie, I am very sorry to read that your FIL, Ben, passed on. How wonderful for you and your family to have had him in your lives for so long. But how sad that he's gone on. Please know that I am thinking of you in your time of sadness and my heart goes out to you.
On another note, if you are using Internet Explorer try switching to either Mozilla Firefox or Opera. I have been using Firefox for years and haven't had any of the problems that other bloggers have complained about. Try it, you may like it better.
Annie, so sorry to hear of your troubles. Here is to a more peaceful and joyful 2013!
Sorry you've had so much sad news in 2012 and hope 2013 is much more positive and happy. Love the bag might have a go at making one similar if you don't mind.
I also found problems with Blogger and photos, my 'browse' button has disappeared.
Happy New Year
So sorry for your loss but glad you were able to make your Rose Bowl trip. Getting to see the float operation up close sounds exciting.
Hope you continue to recover.

I'm with you in saying, "Adios" to 2012. There were some nice points, but it was a rough one overall. Now on to bigger, better and funner things inn 2013!
A difficult end to the year, so sad to say goodbye to a parent/in law. My deepest sympathy to your family. Glad you were able to experience some enjoyment at the parade and spend some time together with your DH. Sorry about the flu! I got my shot months ago...hope it still is working :)
