Ben's Quilt
This quilt got its start at the quilt retreat in April, 2012. This is a M'liss Rae Hawley pattern from her 1st Fat Quarter Quilts book called Roman Stripes. I am on a mission to clear out old fabric so I took all my homespun, plaids, and solids and started stripping them together. The only problem with this pattern was lots and lots of bias. That was a small problem in the quilting phase but another lesson learned. I LOVE how it looks with the black, it has an Amish feel to it. My hubby helped me with the layout and I' m happy with this.
I am not crazy with the panto I chose but it got the quilt finished and in the hands of my father in law, Ben, who is 85 and not in good health. He absolutely loves it and uses it every day while sitting in his recliner watching TV.
These pics were taken prior to the EIGHT INCHES of snow we got last night. To that, I say, BITE ME, Mother Nature!! Temps should be back in the 50's and 60's come the weekend.
Next up, my flannel snowman quilt! I think we are gonna need it this winter!

Love, love, love Ben's quilt!
Sorry but I had to have a little chuckle over your snow. After a few raindrops this morning, the weather here is PERFECT. Going down to the beach soon for a walk with Larkin.
Just think - you will be here enjoying climatic perfection before too long *s*
It looks like a quilt a man would love. Hope he has many years to enjoy it.
