Dan, you will be missed
For many of us, music is an important part of life. Music adds "flavor" to events and happenings. Just hearing a certain song can take us back in time to an important event - a first date, our wedding, the birth of a child. We all have a favorite band or singer that "speaks" to us. For me, back in college, that person was Dan Fogelberg. His music lead me to the first true love of my life, Richard. Although my relationship with Richard ended many years ago, my relationship with Dan continued. So it was with great sadness that I read today that Dan Fogelberg had died at the very young age of 56. He had been fighting prostate cancer for several years. I had seen him in concert many times, the last time being in 2004. His voice was as sweet as ever and took me back to days gone by. Thankfully, his music will live on. Dan, you will be missed.

I stumbled across your site whilst trying to find inspiration to attempt my first ever fabric postcard for a Christmas gift. Then I saw this too - I too am sad - thank you for conveying my sentiments also. :)
Well said, Annie. :/
Very sad, indeed. Hubby didn't even say good morning today . . . just gave me the news. Think I'll go get out an album *pops* *hisses* *crackles* and all.
I read about this yesterday, he truely will be missed. (I need to downlaod his CD onto my MAC for the flight...)

I was so sad about this. High school memories are attached to each of his songs. I got his Greatest hits CD last year. My husband kind of had this bewildered look on his face-- But I told him there is a million dollars worth of memories on a twelve dollar cd. Yes-- he will definitely be missed. Same Old Lang Syne was my favorite....
I'm a Dan fan, too, Annie, though haven't listened to him much lately. But I remember buying in HS the album The Innocent Age and listening to it many many many times. In fact, just thinking of the opening lines of The Nexus still sends shivers down my spine.
So sad about Dan...and so true about music taking you back to a particular time. His songs will always be early motherhood for me.Colleen in South Africa
